Private Lessons
With one-on-one training we focus on teaching obedience commands as well as teaching your dog how to settle in the house and calmly walk by your side. We can work to curb unwanted behaviors like jumping, excessive mouthing, and counter surfing, and we can even teach your dog to be neutral to other animals like cats and chickens. We focus on teaching you how to effectively communicate with your dog through the leash.
Keep in mind that Lessons are all about us teaching YOU how to work with your dog. We teach you our training system and you work with your dog daily to obtain the results you want. You will have homework to complete with your dog in-between lessons and you must show that you are working with your dog in order to progress to the next lesson.
We believe that to create a balanced and happy dog who is able to coexist in your home and life we must create a communication system where we not only reward for good behavior but also correct for unwanted behaviors. This means that we take a balanced approach to training and utilize training tools as needed. We may recommend the use of not only treats but also flat collars, slip leads/collars, prong collars, head harnesses, e-collars, etc.

We create a balanced structure that not only helps your dog succeed but also strengthens the bond between you and your pet once they return home.
When your dog’s program is complete, we take the time to review everything they’ve learned — step by step — so you fully understand how to maintain their progress. We also include FREE follow-up lessons after the program to make sure you and your dog stay on track and consistent with your training plan.
Your dog’s safety and comfort are our top priorities. The Southland K9 Training Facility is a secure, climate-controlled environment monitored by 24/7 video surveillance and equipped with fire, smoke, heat, and carbon detection systems. You can have peace of mind knowing your dog is not only learning but thriving in a safe and caring space.

Aggressive Dog Training
Here at Southland K9, we work with dogs of ANY breed with ANY issue. If you have a dog that is struggling with either human or dog reactivity/aggression we can help. We have over a decade of experience with some of the most behaviorally challenged dogs out there. We offer lessons as well as board and train options but require a consultation before booking so we can make sure we are a good fit for you and vice versa.
